|Thrift Book Haul|
I was super excited when I found out that one of the thrift stores near my house was having a 5 for a $1 sale on books. I saw the sign instantly and ran over to where the books were to dig through to see if they would have some books I'd be interested in. I am not even going to lie to you guys, I feel like I need to stop buying books because I am pretty sure I have a good 50 books on my shelf that I haven't read yet. However I figured 5 books for a $1 is a great deal. Soooooo I disregarded the fact that I have a ton of other books that I need to read.
It took a while for me to rummage through what was there, but I ended up finding 5 books that I wanted and I bought them.
The Adventure of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain is a classic. Unfortunately, I have not ever read this book before. I recall the Disney movie focusing on Tom Sawyer vaguely, but I can not even remember what it was about. The book that I bought looks like it has been read a few times though. It smells like a genuine old book without the collected dust if that makes sense.
If any of you guys have read The Adventure of Tom Sawyer, leave a comment down below and tell me whether you liked it or not. Don't leave any spoilers though, please!
I found a couple of Shakespeare books from the Yale Shakespeare collection series. I bought Measure for Measure, Timon of Athens, & Twelfth Night. I have a decent amount of Shakespeare books that I either read for a class or I haven't gotten around to reading. However I have heard good things about Twelfth Night. I haven't heard too much about the other two, but I will definitely tell you guys what I think about them while I am reading them.
Do you guys have any favorite Shakespeare books? Leave a comment down below and tell me what they are.
The last book I bought was The Nanny Diaries by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus. I believe I watched a movie called The Nanny Diaries with the actress Scarlett Johansson and I want to say that the movie is based on this book. I plan on doing a comparison of the movie to the book sometime in the near future.
So those are the 5 books that I purchased from the thrift store. Overall, I think I cleaned up fairly well with buying these five books for only a $1. I will definitely be going back to the thrift store again to check out some more books that they may have available.
Now it's time for you guys to chime in.
What books have you found at the thrift store that you ended up loving?
Have you read any of the books that I bought?
