Textbook Recycling Review | Best Place to Sell Books Online for Cash?? textbook buyback make money online college student

At the end of every college semester, I always debate upon whether I will resell my books to an online company or whether I will keep them. I am not going to lie to you guys, my decision on whether I will sell my books usually depends on how much money I will get for them because I almost never receive close to the cost of what I originally spent for the cost of books. However receiving some cash back is kind of nice, especially to have for bills or spending money. In the past I have used Textbook Recycling as well as Amazon's book buy back program. However recently, I used Textbook Recycling and I will discuss with you guys my experience with using Textbook Recycling to sell textbooks in case any of you are interested in selling your own textbooks.

Textbook Recycling is a company stationed in Moscow, Idaho that not only buys used textbooks, but they also sell textbooks at a decent price. Within the selling process, I went to Textbook Recycling's website and clicked on the "Sell Textbooks" category. Upon coming across this category, it gives you a box in which you can type the ISBN numbers to the books that you would like to sell. I typed in about 7 ISBN numbers and the prices for how much I could receive for the books I wanted to sell came up. 3 of them were priced at a high enough price in which I did not mind parting with the books. So I decided to sell 3 of the textbooks and keep the other 4. (I am still debating on selling the other 4 textbooks though or just keeping them as a reference). Within selling the textbooks, you create an account with your email address and fill out information involved with your place of residence. After this is done, you will enter whether you want to be paid by check or by Paypal. I always go with the Paypal option because I am usually paid quickly and I do not have to worry about waiting for a check in the mail or my check getting lost in the mail.

After you confirm that you would like to sell the chosen books to Textbook Recycling, you receive a UPS label that you must print out in order for the package to be sent to Textbook Recycling. I believe you have about a week and a half to ship the book from the date you confirm that you will be shipping books in order to maintain the price that you want to receive back for selling the books to the company. I suppose the price value of the book decreases over time depending on the time of the year or how high in demand the book is at the time.

You can print a UPS shipping label when shipping textbooks to Textbook Recycling.

Also keep in mind that when you sell the books, to make sure you follow the way in which you should package the books for shipping.

*Ship books in a sturdy box.
*Make sure the books do not shift around in the box.
*Do not package with newspaper as a filler.
*Tape the box tightly.

I confirmed I would be shipping the books on the 16th of May which was a Tuesday. I ended up actually taking the packaged books to UPS that Thursday the 18th or that Friday which was the 19th and the books reached their destination Monday. You can track your books through Textbook Recycling or you can ask for a receipt. I asked for a receipt even though I tracked with the website as well. Now I will say that even though the books were shipped way before the time, it displayed on the website that the books were received by Textbook Recycling on Tuesday, May 30th.

Confirmation of Textbook Recycling book being shipped to their site.
I honestly wasn't really upset about it because it'd take a while for me to receive an update since this is a popular website that a lot of college students use to sell back their textbooks. However I did take a screenshot of when the book showed that it had been delivered because I did not want any mishap to occur claiming that I did not ship my books on time. I always try to keep some sort of proof when it comes to doing any sort of shipping online.

On Wednesday, May 31st it displayed on the website that I was paid. I checked my Paypal account and sure enough, the money had been sent to me.

Within the picture I just shared it shows that I did not receive the full amount. Textbook Recycling sent an email to me and expressed that the amount I received was lower than the amount I was originally supposed to be paid because one of my books was a Teacher's Edition book. Textbook recycling does not accept Teacher's Editions. They only accept Student Edition textbooks.
